APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
I'm going to trust that everyone's responsible enough to do well without me judging detailed applications. If you're here and you're interested, then I believe in your ability unless you give me a big reason not to. All I'm going to ask for is the personality basics (a bullet list is fine) and the following for the game's purposes:

[✓] You must submit a name of who referred you along with your application. For now, Meliore works on an invite system, but this may change in the future! Once you're in and approved, you are welcome to invite others. Please be kind to your lone mod and be responsible with this!

[✓] The desire that draws your character in. Be as detailed as you feel is necessary. A few sentences to a few paragraphs explaining the wish and why your character wants it is sufficient though.

[✓] 1-3 great fears your character has. Again, the more detail you provide the better, but using a simple list is more than fine.

[✓] Memories. Characters must have some strong memories when coming into the world. Players should submit 1-2 significant places that a character thinks fondly of and would not wish to change, along with 1-2 locations that a character despises or fears.

(In the event of complete amnesia with no recovery at any point in canon or lack of canon material, characters can come in blank. If this happens, the first fears they begin to feel and the first locations they come to really enjoy will fill these slots and can be submitted later. However, doing it this way will destabilize the character's chosen locations as any feelings towards them are very fresh and susceptible to change.)

If two or more players submit a location(s) in the 'favored' slot, this location will become more resistant to change. Each new submission of the same location type (e.g., a library) will further stabilize it, making it a safer area unless something disrupts it. This rule also applies if multiples submit the same 'despised/feared' location, though it is less likely that characters will use these areas as secure bases.

It is possible that conflict over favored and hated/feared locations will occur. For instance, Character A loves the riverbank while Character B is terrified of waterfronts. If there are conflicting emotions towards a submitted location, these areas will morph and become more unstable, attracting negative emotion and hauntings. Unstable areas will not be exactly as either character remembers them, and will be initially dangerous to wander alone.

Characters can enter being already aware of what their greatest desire is or they can be completely oblivious to it. Because characters typically have more than just one thing that they might want, it's always possible for them to believe their greatest wish is something other than what you submit.

Who can apply?
Players must be 18+. Also, leave your drama at the door please and thank you and no exceptions. Those are the only hard rules.

Otherwise, anyone. Canon characters, OCs, CRAU, canon AU, and AU characters are all welcome.

Duplicate characters are not permitted at this time. This may be subject to change in the future.

A submission of CRAU/AU changes to a character is required if your character is not a canon AU (such as Cloud from FF7 vs Cloud from Kingdom Hearts). Additionally, an OC application should have a bit more info regarding the locations you choose to submit and the desire strong enough to bring them to Meliore. Just give me a snapshot of your character's personality and a list of important things, and that should be sufficient.
